Sunnova Partners with OpenSolar to Bring AI Precision to Solar Design
Sunnova partners with OpenSolar to integrate AI-powered design, enhancing solar system precision for homeowners and businesses across the US.
US-based Sunnova Energy International, Inc., a leading provider of adaptive energy services, announced Tuesday a strategic partnership with OpenSolar, a solar software innovator, to integrate artificial intelligence into its solar system design process.
The move revealed at Sunnova’s annual industry summit, marks a significant step in accelerating the adoption of AI-driven solar installations across the US.
AI for Increased Efficiency
By embedding OpenSolar’s AI-powered design technology into its Catalyst dealer platform, Sunnova aims to equip its vast network of solar installers with automated precision tools that generate highly accurate system proposals within seconds.
The new technology will allow dealers to enhance efficiency, improve cost-effectiveness and enable homeowners and businesses to make faster, more informed energy decisions.
“The OpenSolar AI design technology brings best-in-class solar design technology to the Catalyst dealer platform,” said Jake Wachman, Sunnova’s senior vice president of technology and Software Engineering. “By streamlining the design process, we empower Sunnova dealers to help customers make better energy decisions faster and more confidently.”
Growing Market Demands
The integration represents a leap forward in the rapidly growing solar industry, where efficiency and precision are critical in meeting increasing consumer demand. With the US solar market projected to reach at least $17 billion by 2030, the collaboration between Sunnova and OpenSolar positions both companies to capitalize on the sector’s growth while improving the experience for dealers and end customers.
Andrew Birch, co-founder and CEO of OpenSolar, emphasized the transformative nature of the partnership. “I’m excited that we’ve been able to take our market-leading design accuracy and incorporate artificial intelligence to automatically generate lightning-fast solar system designs,” Birch said. “Sunnova’s leading network of dealers will be the first to experience this technology anywhere in the world, benefiting its teams and customers.”
New Standard for Solar Deployment
The announcement was met with enthusiasm at the Sunnova Summit, where industry leaders, policymakers, and technology providers gathered to discuss the future of solar and energy storage solutions. By incorporating OpenSolar’s AI-driven capabilities into its workflow, Sunnova is setting a new industry standard for speed and accuracy in solar system deployment.
As the solar industry continues to expand, both companies see this partnership as a pivotal step in improving accessibility and affordability for clean energy solutions. With AI-enabled automation reducing time and costs for installers, Sunnova and OpenSolar are banking on a future where homeowners can transition to solar power more seamlessly than ever before.
