AM Green and DP World Partner to Export Green Ammonia, Methanol Globally
AM Green partners with DP World to develop green fuel export infrastructure, boosting global decarbonization and India’s clean energy goals.
Hyderabad-based AM Green announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Dubai’s DP World, a global port and logistics firm, to develop infrastructure to export 1 million ton per annum each of green ammonia and methanol.
According to the statement, this collaboration will significantly enhance global decarbonization efforts by enabling seamless exports to key consumption markets.
The partnership includes building infrastructure across the European Union, the Far East region, and the United Arab Emirates, the company said in a statement.
The two firms will also build port facilities at AM Green’s industrial clusters located across India and set up refueling stations for green ammonia and methanol in Dubai, India and Southeast Asia.
These green molecules, essential components of the global transition to clean energy, will be produced in India using renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower.
“We are committed to contributing to India’s ambition of emerging as a green energy exporter and we are excited to partner with DP World to build a world-class infrastructure for the global movement of green molecules,” said Mahesh Kolli, founder of Greenko Group and AM Green in the statement.
“Our partnership with DP World underscores our commitment to building world-class infrastructure for exporting green molecules, contributing to India’s ambition of becoming a green energy powerhouse.”
AM Green has set ambitious goals to achieve a production capacity of 5 MTPA of green fuels by 2030. The company’s flagship project, a 1 MTPA green ammonia facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, is already underway, marking a significant milestone in India’s quest to achieve its net-zero targets.
DP World, known for its extensive expertise in global trade logistics, will play a crucial role in ensuring these green fuels reach key markets efficiently.
“DP World aims to be essential to the future of global trade, ensuring everything it does has a long-lasting positive impact on economies and societies,” said Yuvraj Narayan, group deputy CEO and CFO of DP World.
Narayan added: “As part of our commitment to driving sustainable supply chains, partnering with AM Green allows us to harness our expertise in logistics and infrastructure to facilitate the global distribution of clean fuels and chemical products. Together, we aim to play a pivotal role in enabling a low-carbon economy and advancing global sustainability goals.”
