Tata Power has entered into a 25-year partnership with Noida International Airport to supply 23.8 megawatts of clean energy, including solar and wind power.

According to a statement, the agreement, valued at ₹550 crore ($66 million), involved two power purchase agreements signed between senior officials of the two companies.

Under the deal, Tata Power Trading Co. Ltd. will provide 10.8 MW of wind, and Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. will develop 13 MW of solar energy.

The statement further said that the utilities major will also manage critical “dry utilities” for NIA, including key electrical infrastructure.

“This collaboration represents a vital step in India’s green transition, particularly as the country moves to expand its airport infrastructure,” said Tata Power CEO & MD Praveer Sinha in a statement.

NIA, which is expected to open its first phase with a capacity for 12 million passengers annually soon, aims to position itself as a leader in sustainable aviation.

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, noted that sourcing over half of the airport’s energy from renewable sources demonstrates a commitment to environmentally responsible practices.

“This partnership with Tata Power aligns with our long-term vision of creating a sustainable airport that can accommodate millions of travelers in an eco-friendly way,” he said.

Tata Power’s full-service approach, from energy supply and project execution to maintenance services, is paving the way for replicable green models as India plans the construction of over 200 new airports in the coming decades.

Through this partnership, Noida International Airport and Tata Power are building an energy-efficient aviation hub and setting an example for future infrastructure projects in India’s journey toward a sustainable future.
