Tembo Global Industries announced on Tuesday that it has secured a contract worth ₹595 crore ($70.9 million) from the Maharashtra government to build a 124-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant.

According to a statement, the metal product manufacturer received a power purchase agreement from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. for 25 years.

The project is part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan scheme, aiming to provide farmers with solar-related technologies.

The statement added that this landmark agreement marked a significant step in the company’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The project is slated for execution within 18 months, with the PPA extending 25 years from completion.

The company, known for its expertise in engineering mechanics and project execution across various sectors, has taken a proactive approach to meet the growing demand for clean energy.
