German technology major Siemens revealed on Monday a bold vision for the industry’s future, anchored by advancements in artificial intelligence, digital twin technology, and immersive design.

According to a statement, the company is bringing industrial AI directly to the shop floor with the new Siemens Industrial Copilot for Operations, facilitating quick decision-making for shop floor operators and boosting productivity.

The copilot ecosystem is continuously evolving to offer AI capabilities across the industrial value chain and into sectors including discrete and process manufacturing, infrastructure and mobility.

This suite of copilots can enhance human-machine collaboration across all experience levels, helping to accelerate development times and innovation cycles.

“Industrial AI allows us to harness the vast amounts of data generated in industrial environments and turn it into insights that drive real business impact,” said Peter Koerte, chief technology officer of Siemens AG, in the statement.

Revolutionizing Air Travel with JetZero

Siemens announced its collaboration with JetZero, an aviation startup developing a blended-wing aircraft to reduce fuel consumption by 50 percent and achieve zero carbon emissions by 2035.

JetZero will leverage Siemens’ Xcelerator platform, including its digital twin and industrial metaverse technologies, to design and build the aircraft and its “Factory of the Future.”

These tools enable JetZero to simulate manufacturing processes, validate approaches, and mitigate risks before physical production begins.

“Siemens is giving us the confidence to take a leap, not just a step, in revolutionizing air travel,” said JetZero CEO Tom O’Leary.

Empowering Startups Through Democratized Technology

The company also unveiled its Siemens for Startups program, aimed at giving small businesses access to its cutting-edge industrial technologies. In collaboration with Amazon Web Services, Siemens will provide startups with reduced-cost access to its Xcelerator platform, AWS credits, and go-to-market support.

This initiative reflects Siemens’ broader goal of making advanced industrial tools accessible to companies of all sizes, fostering innovation at every level.

Collaboration with NVIDIA and Sony

Siemens continued its focus on partnerships by highlighting collaborations with NVIDIA and Sony. With NVIDIA, Siemens introduced the Teamcenter Digital Reality Viewer, powered by NVIDIA Omniverse, to deliver photorealistic visualization within its product lifecycle management systems.

Meanwhile, Siemens and Sony unveiled a mixed-reality engineering solution combining Siemens’ NX software with Sony’s advanced head-mounted displays. This tool aims to bring immersive collaboration to the industrial metaverse, enabling engineers to create and refine designs in real-time, high-fidelity 3D.

Transforming Everyday Life Through Innovation

At its CES booth, Siemens showcased a range of solutions developed with its customers, from Finnish textile company Spinnova’s sustainable fabric production to Norwegian startup Desert Control’s efforts to combat desertification with digital twin technologies.

Tony Hemmelgarn, CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, summarized the company’s mission: “Technology is a tool to transform every day — for everyone. Whether through aviation, water systems, or sustainable agriculture, we are enabling bold innovations that impact global and local communities alike.”

As Siemens continues to push the boundaries of technology and innovation, its bold initiatives across various sectors are set to redefine the industrial landscape.
